Day 1
The Monday 1st July, it’s the day of the start.
I go to Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport at 6 am to catch my plane to Iceland, which leaves an hour later. Once on the plane, I relax and I fall asleep. When I arrive at Reykjavik airport after 3 hours of flight, I take a taxi to the hotel Klettur where I rented a room for 2 weeks.
During the rest of the day, I organize my hotel room and prepare my business for the next day.
Day 2
Tuesday morning, I go to the tourist office to take more precise knowledge of the activities to be done in the country. After taking an around ten flyer, I decided to go to a restaurant in the capital: « The Nostra ». I eat dishes as good as the others, I will never forget the quality of the food served in this restaurant.
After eating, I sat on a bench and read all the flyers, I knew now the place I was going to visit tomorrow.
Days 3
This third, I got up early in the morning to enjoy the famous black sand beach in Reynisjara. This beach is far from my hotel so I had to travel a long way to reach it. But when I arrived I was not disappointed, I had an unusual landscape under my eyes.
After having a good time on this beach, I decided to walk around and I fell on jet ski rental station, I could not help but make it. After a few sessions I decided to finish my afternoon watching a movie on the screen of a cinema in town.
I then headed for the next bus that will take me to the Svínafell Glacier (Svínafellsjökull) to visit a magical place.
Day 4
Before arriving in the ice caves, with a group of tourists and a guide we crossed a snowy area. When we finally arrived in one of these famous caverns, I was eager to take pictures so it was beautiful.
Following the visit of the caves, the group and I went on an excursion in the mountains.
Around 7 pm, we went back to a chalet which was made available to warm us up and restore us.
Day 5
The next day, I leave around 10 am to the hotel Klettur. I had to prepare myself to join a family who was kind enough to accept me for two days so that they could observe their way of life.
Just arrived at the hotel, I hurry to change my things and leave, because the way to the family is quite long.
Day 6
After several hours of roads, I arrive in the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur populated with a hundred inhabitants. Despite the small number of inhabitants, I find it very difficult to find the Goðrúnarson’s family home.
By asking passers, I finally find it.
The rest of the day was very entertaining, we discussed the Icelandic culture and I learned that they were Lutheran.
Day 7
Sunday, Mr.Goðrúnarson offers everyone to go fishing, he says know a good little place. We arrive in front of a beautiful lake and we go fishing. At the same time, we have the legend of elves in Iceland which is very interesting. At the end of the day, the fishing was good and we go home.
Day 8
After saying goodbye to the Goðrúnarson family, I’m going to the hotel to look for new destinations to visit.
When I finally go back, I found geysers not far from the capital on the internet.
Once there, the show is incredible, water projected several meters high.
Many people came to admire the show.
Day 9
The next day, I decided to visit the National Museum of Iceland that is in the capital.
The next day, I decided to visit the National Museum of Iceland that is in the capital. The visit was very informative, we learn a lot about Icelandic culture and history. In addition, the museum has a floor and a basement, which makes the longest.
Day 10
Wednesday, I go to a place still near the capital, the blue lagoon. These are hot springs, the perfect place to relax.
There are many people in the blue lagoon, but the pools are big and I found a secluded place, I took advantage of this moment. I leave the hot springs in the early evening and I decide to go to the restaurant, a different from the first called the Lava Restaurant.
The dinner is very well !!!
Day 11
Thursday, I had planned to go to the Snæfellsjökull volcano, I heard that this volcano should not be missed during a trip to Iceland.
The fauna and flora are beautiful in this region, I do not regret being.
After this long walk I went back to the hotel.
Day 12
Today I went to visit a museum of sagas that reminds us the history of the Vikings. I found the exhibition very well done and interesting, I learned things that I did not know about this people.
After the visit, I go back to the hotel to prepare my things for departure the day after tomorrow.
Day 13
For the penultimate day, I decide to visit an icy region with a guide on a sledge pulled by dogs. On the way, I saw several animals like seals and deer.
This activity really pleased me. Too bad it will be soon the trip.
Day 14
Sunday, July 14, it is unfortunately the end of the trip. After recovering all my belongings, I go to the airport of the capital to catch my plane at 13 pm.
Iceland is a beautiful country.
